Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Gelastic Review

Look at me.

Two reviews in one week.

I am on a roll.

Okay.

So this review is on a product I received in my Influenster Spring Vox Box.

I received this product complimentary for testing and review purposes from Influenster.

I've used Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ products before and have always been really satisfied with the result.

When I was doing the pre-survey for Influenster to see if I would qualify for the box I was asked what hair products I used. At the time, my hair was cut in a curly bob and I used creams and gels to tame the frizz.

Than I cut all of my hair off.

All of it.

I buzzed the back and side (just one) and basically just have an asymmetrical curly bang thing.

I don't usually put product in it except for a texturizing cream.

A week later I got my Vox Box and with it came Gelastic.

POOP.

I HAVE NO HAIR TO USE WITH THIS.

I let my bangs grow out a bit (luckily my hair grows ridiculously fast) and then tried it out.

I think I did it wrong.

I put a tiny bit in my hand and diluted it with water and then worked it in from the roots to the tips of my hair.

This was by far the stickiest gel I have ever used. I had to wash my hands two times to get all of it off and when I tried to get it out in the shower I had to shampoo twice.

Considering I rarely shampoo my hair in the first place this did not make me the happiest.

It also dried crazy fast and then my hair was crunchy.

Ugh.

I would rather have frizz than crunch.

Things that should crunch:
Cereal
Toast
Leaves

Things that should not crunch:
Oatmeal
Pillows
Hair

Moving On.

I decided to look at the product description to see what they said about their product.

Here it is:

Benefits:
Ultra strong style control all day long
Dries with a firm strong finish
Lasting definition

Ingredients:
Resins normally used in finishing sprays provide lasting, strong and moldable hold

Application:
Apply a small amount into damp hair and style as desired, or work into dry hair for additional separation
Create your style or add texture as preferred
Control Level 4/5.07 fl.oz

After reading this I actually liked the product a lot more. It is described as having
ultra strong style control
firm strong finish
lasting, strong moldable hold

Okay.

I get that I'm just repeating what they said.

But stick with me.

I think the only reason I wasn't happy with this product is because I never use strong hold products.

Ever.

I always use flexable, light products so my hair maintains its natural curl while eliminating frizz.

So, if you're looking for a product that will hold your hair all day, this is for you!

If not, I really love Dust It.

It's rad.

I'm going to be honest here.

I was not super excited about trying these.

Don't get me wrong. I love all things related to nails, but I had seen these in the store and just thought they looked kind of cheap and the design I received was not my favorite.

Then I tried them.

Woah.

THESE ARE THE PRETTIEST THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! WHY DID I EVEN DOUBT THEM?

I can't even.

THESE DON'T EVEN LOOK LIKE PRESS ON NAILS.

THEY ARE SO REAL AND LIFE LIKE.

Okay I'm done with the caps.

Deep breath.

Seriously. These are so great.

Application was a breeze. It took me under ten minutes to open the package, read the directions, prep my nails, and apply the nails.

AND LOOK AT THEM.

LOOK AT THEM.

The colors weren't my favorite at first but they did really start to grow on me.

The amount of compliments I got on them was ridiculous.

The only downside was the thumbnail.

I have naturally tiny nails.

Like, really tiny.

It's wierd how tiny they are.

ANYWAY.

All the nails fit really well and then the largest thumbnail was way too small.

I ended up filing my thumbnail down to make it fit but it looks smaller than the rest of my nails so that's kind of lame.

I did research that a bit and discovered that they do come in different sizes so maybe the medium thumbnail would have worked better?

But the other nails fit fine so maybe I need a medium set for the thumb and a small set for the fingers.

I don't think my thumb is that big.

Whatever.

The staying power on these was really great too. I've had them on for three days and only one of them popped off but that was my fault.

Here's some more pictures!

I should add that I didn't use OPI's base coat with these, it just felt strange not holding a polish bottle while modeling these so I grabbed the closest thing I could find.

On a semi-unrelated note, I went to see a movie with a friend after applying these and as I was spraying on my perfume I was like...

Woah.

My nails match my perfume bottle.

SEE

This is With Love by Hilary Duff.

It basically smells like Heaven.

Okay, so that's it for my review and all in all, I was really imPRESSed with these. (See what I did there?) and am planning on buying them in the future!

TastyKake Kandy Bar Kakes

Hello!

This is a review of TastyKakes Kandy Bar Kakes.

They describe the product this way:
"Kandy Bar Kakes are the best of both worlds. Light and fluffy chocolate enrobed cakes come in a unique kandy bar shape with a delicious créme filling made with your favorite candy flavors. Available in S'mores, Peppermint, and Peanut Butter flavor.

Available at grocery and convenience stores across America."

I received this product in my Influenster Spring Vox Box and was pretty skeptical. I'm not one for snack foods like this (cakes, cookies, candy bars, etc...) and if I do indulge in one, there's a 83.7% chance that there's peanut butter in it.

I really love peanut butter.

I digress.

It was a little bit smooshed in the box. (I think the hair product I received kept rolling over it.) So when I got around to trying it out it was a little bit crumbly.

Crumbs are not my favorite. They always go right for the cleavage.

I think if it hadn't been shipped to me and I had bought one in the store the crumbs wouldn't be an issue, but then again, maybe not.

Okay. Taste.

It was... sweet? I think I probably would have really liked this in highschool when sweet snacks were my life, but in my ripe old age of twenty-three, it was just a tad too sweet.

The S'more flavor wasn't my favorite either. I've never been big on S'mores. I saw some people got a Reese's bar and I'm sure I would have preferred that one.

Calories.

WOAH. One cake is one serving and has 260 calories and 38 carbs.

Ugh. That's too much.

So let's break it down.

Pros:
I like that it was made with Hershey's cocoa. I trust Hershey's cocoa. I don't know why. I just do. Deal with it.

I actually didn't mind the flavor. I'm not big on s'mores, but it wasn't awful. Just sweet, like a s'more. I think that if I had been able to try a Reese's one, I would have really liked it.

Price.
Single Serve - $1.69 Family Pack - $4.49
I think that's a pretty fair price for the product. I don't think I'd spend any more than $2 on a single serve.

Cons:
The size of the snack itself was a little bigger than I would have liked. I wish they had split the cake (kake?) into two bars. Then you could share it with a friend or eat both sides or only eat half... You get the picture.

Crumbs. They're the worst.

Calories. Ooh. That's so much for one bar. This brings me back to splitting it in two. I think it would be much easier to justify the calories if I only ate half of one, and if I wanted to eat both sides, who's going to stop me? It's my life.

So there you have it!
