I love October.
I adore October.
There is something magical about this month. It's simply perfect. It's just the thing we need after September. September is full of goodbyes. Goodbye to the warm weather. Goodbye to the beach and ice cream comes. Goodbye to catching fireflies and lying in the grass counting stars. Goodbye to summer dresses and flip flops.
September is the end of something wonderful.
October is the beginning of something even better.
October is full of hellos. Hello to warm sweaters worn one hundred times. Hello to hot chocolate and cuddling under a blanket with a good book. Hello to changing leaves and carving pumpkins. Hello to knit scarves with matching fingerless gloves. Hello to cinnamon candles and pumpkin lattes. Hello to Halloween.
And when October is over it's okay to feel a little sad, but know that everything is about to start. November brings family and friends and Thanksgiving. December brings that first fall of snow and Christmas lights and starry nights and then a new year.
So here's to October and all the wonderful things it brings.
